About the property:
This very special riverside property offers peace and tranquillity in a secluded, wooded setting. The village of Aspiran is about five minutes drive.
Originally a ferrymans cottage the house is set in private grounds with trees and flowering shrubs. It has been restored to a very high standard with good furnishings and fittings throughout. All rooms have river views and are spacious and light incorporating many original features. The large, sunny terrace, is perfect for al fresco meals and sunbathing and is well equipped with outdoor furniture and sun-loungers.
Spacious living area is well furnished with a comfortable sofa and arm chair, lamps and coffee table. The monumental fireplace with wood burning stove is the central feature of this room with its old exposed beams. The house is equipped with a flat-screen TV and receives UK free to view TV channels. To the right there is an open hall area, with access to the double-bedded room with wardrobe. Also off this central hall area is the modern shower room, with sink, and large walk in shower.
The twin bedroom on the second floor is reached via a stone staircase from the hall and is furnished with twin beds and wardrobe.
Through the hall is the kitchen /dining room. The large kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, electric oven gas and electric hob. There is a separate WC with hand basin situated off the kitchen. The back door from the kitchen opens onto the garden at the side of the house.
Electricity, bed linen and towels are included in the rental. There is a music centre with CD player, available for your use and free broadband internet connection. Gas heating for winter lets.
The river is great for swimming during the warmer months and for fishing (permit required) in season.
Please note that there are uneven stone steps up to the house which may not suitable for the elderly or those with limited mobility. Due to the close proximity to the river the house is not suitable for young children.
